Bro Code

Bro code exists only when it deals with a girl the guy isn't interested in. The End.

Dress to Impress Week: Conclusion

Dress to Impress Week is over, and I'm kind of sad. It was fun wearing my best outfits, but it was not fun trying to think of winning combinations everyday, ok that was fun but just exhausting. Milestones for my life included: Wearing heels to work, mixing prints, black socks and wearing a skirt to work. I didn't post for Friday because Friday we wear casual clothes and I didn't think anybody would care to see that. I think I'll wear more skirts to work after this experience.

Dress to Impress Week: Thursday 9/27

Today marks an important day in history: I am wearing a skirt to work for the first time in my life, with heels at that!

Beauty and the Review: Primer

What: Primer

Brand: Almay

Line: Smart Shade

Color: N/A

Price: $9.99 for 1.0 fl oz

Application: Finger tips

Coverage: N/A

Longevity: This product is meant to give you a good base for your foundation (redundant perhaps?) and to help your make up last longer throughout the day.

Positives: This does in fact provide a good base, at least I think it does, however...

Negatives: This goes on pretty shiny, and while it does get less shiny after it "sets" or "dries", but I think my skin looks a bit greasy. But I can't tell if my skin is actually greasy or if the product is what causing the greasy look, just have to compensate with a bit more powder. Oh and it smells bad.

In a nut shell: The greasy factor is less than desireable, but I think my skin just needs some time to adjust and the greasiness look may subside. Then again, I'm not sure it makes enough of a difference to make me want to buy it again.

Gemini Mount

Empty bar. Lone pole. Liquid courage. Gemini mount. Success.

Dress to Impress Week: Wednesday 9/26

I've worn this outfit to work before, but today is the first time with heels. But it is one of my favorites, mostly because of the vest, but I love these pants too. The shirt is also adorable has birds on it, so it is safe to say this is one of my favored outfits even when it's not DTIW.

Getting excited for Halloween!

Last year Gooseberry Banana and I went as Thing 1 and Thing 2, cosa uno y cosa dos it was a spur of the moment decision and thank goodness I am not the only person willing to put on a spandex unitard! I love love love couple/partner/team/group costumes, that being said, this is what I want to be for Halloween this year.

I have wanted to be Marilyn forever, I almost was 2 years ago but went as a beer maid instead. I have no regrets. Anyway, since I love group efforts for costumes, I have enlisted Gooseberry and her man to make my dreams come true. If Dewberry were going to be here I would have insisted that he be James Dean.

I realize that it is not Jackie in the photo but Katie Holmes, all I really cared about was getting a full shot of the outfit and that's hard to find on the real Jackie.

I am currently watching "My Week with Marilyn" to help myself get into character for the big day.

Dress to Impress Week: Tuesday 9/25

Poor photo quality again, it's just too dark in the mornings. Wearing heels again too, they only made it through the car ride yesterday before I abandoned them for flats. I'm realizing that dressing fancy requires fancy clothes, I have worn this outfit before when it wasn't DTIW so it doesn't feel like anything special. If I want to keep this up I'm going to have to do some shopping.

Olive Baby's Birthday Weekend

Went up north for the Olive's first birthday party this weekend, I got to see her teeth, tickle her belly and hear her say "tickle, tickle" and it was the cutest thing ever! Auntie Vanilla Cocoa bean made her a kick ass birthday cake and the princess paraphernalia was everywhere. After removing her crown and smooshing all the frosting she could into her hair, Olive opened her presents, well, Lady finger Keylime did and Olive played with the paper :) We'll chalk this one up as a success.

Dress to Impress Week: Monday 9/24

The quality of this photo is less than desirable, the most important thing is that I'm wearing heels...and pearls.

Dress to Impress Week

Long story short I have to wear a fantastic outfit everyday this week to work. Photos will follow. I just learned that I am allowed to wear skirts, so this will be fun.

brother story #4

I need to get a name for my brother on here, because it would be nice for him to have one. I have decided he will be Jackberry Cocoa bean, I like that.

To continue with the dress trend that has taken place in my other brother story posts...Vanilla Cocoa bean and I used to dress up my brother as a girl. We named him Jessie, we made my mom video tape us presenting him, I mean, her, to the world. This presentation included my sister and I holding up her crotcheted blanket, (its name was Sweaty) like a curtain, a proclaiming like town criers: "Ladies and gentlement, meet Jessie!". We then dropped the blanket dramatically and Jackberry ran forward wearing my sisters pageant dress and our clip on earrings from the game Pretty Pretty Princess. I should try to find a picture.

What time is it?

GAME TIME!

Desert lime Buffalo berry and I are headed back to the stomping grounds that is commonly known as Flo-town. I understand a tricked out new concession stand is going to rock my socks off at the football game, but I can't eat too much from that place because we have a dinner date afterward. Then we have some other business to attend to. However, I am very excited to wear my new jacket, in my mind the evening revolves around me wearing it. The End.

Kumquat Desert fig

I can't remember the exact circumstances of the day but Kumquat was doing something in the kitchen while I was in the dining room, I heard the door of the refridgerator open, then I heard it slam shut and then I heard:

"It's fickin freezing in the freezer!"

Beauty and the Review: Mascara #1A

What: Volumizing Mascara

Brand: Rimmel London

Line: Volume Accelerator

Color: Black

This review will be a 2 part ordeal. Rimmel London claims that using this mascara for 30 days will make your lashes "look more numerous". I am not always quick to believe these things. This post is the "before" and in 30 days you will have the pleasure of viewing the "after" AKA the "London Look" and the full product review.

the chicken #2

This is a continuation of my original post the chicken, but if that was not enough to convey my point, I am certain this post will help you see it my way:

Asking "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" is like asking "which came first, man or the embryo?"

Shoe Neglect

I have these shoes that I rarely wear because they hurt my feet, the heels are about 4 inches high so I think most people would agree that staying away is the best bet. For the most part the shoes hang up in my closet as shown in the photo, but the heel itself is super smooth so they slip out of the rack all the time. The other day one fell as usual, with the heel stabbing right into my foot, not as usual. I can only assume that because my shoes were not able to hurt my feet by me wearing them, they decided to hurt my feet by attempting to impale them.

Barb Wire to Flag...attempt

The top left photo is called a Barb Wire, the goal is to be able to stretch out your body perpendicular to the pole, which I am attempting to do in the bottom photo. The bottom arm, with its elbow dug into the ribs and the abs are what makes this trick possible, like most tricks, it is a little more difficult to do once up on the pole vs being on the floor. Since I live to impress people, I prefer to just do it up on the pole, can't wait until I have this one mastered.

Kiwi Oil palm #2

I salute you

Beauty and the Review: Tinted Mascara

What: Tinted Mascara

Brand: Maybelline New York

Line: Great Lash

Color: Totally Teal Limited Edition

Price: $5.44 for .43 fl oz

Application: Bristle wand

Coverage: One coat is all I'm wearing in the photo. (One coat meaning I dipped the wand into the tube once and then wiggled it over my eyelashes a couple times)

Longevity: Lasts all day from what I can see, the color doesn't get any less colorful, score.

Positives: It's teal, so it's fun. Also, loading it on is an option because it doesn't get overly clumpy.

Negatives: Would be nice if the color popped a bit more, and I'm not crazy about the lack of feathering effect, but today is all about color so let's just stay on topic.

In a nut shell: I like this mascara, I wear it with navy eyeliner and that makes it much more better (bettah!), in the photo I am wearing just the mascara to show how it stands on its own.

Buddha Hold

I've also heard this called a Genie hold, but who really knows, or cares for that matter. Anyway, this hold is very much like the Yogini in terms of skin loss under your arm and on your side. I like this trick because I have a good armpit grip, one thing I need to work on is my legs, they look sort of odd in terms of position.

Presents

Just bought this sweater for Dewberry a little while ago and I tried it on to see if it would fit him. I had a stranger try it on at the store for me but he was bigger than Dewberry so I thought I might be a better guinea pig for testing the size. Point is, want to keep this for myself.

Wonderful

Found this vintage baby at the one and only Savers! The pic doesn't do the color justice because it really is fantastic! Oh, and there is a belt that goes with.

Blogging with an iPhone

I can't stick to anything, I'm the queen of unfinished projects and incomplete ideas. I have a scrapbook from high school that I have yet to finish...I'm 24.

Lay Back

First day/post back in the blogging universe and I'm choosing to go simple. This hold took me awhile to conquer, mainly due to fear. Most common way to transition to a layback is from a pole sit, I prefer to go into a bit of a pike from my pole sit, that way your legs are up against the pole before laying back. I think it's pretty and powerful, need a steel trap set of thighs for this.
